How do i change my internet explorer link opening preferences?

when i used to click on something it would open in a new window or on the same page. now it opens in a new tab. how do i change it back to the first way. i realize this is a stupid question but i forgot where the preferences for this specific choice is. thank you to anyone and everyone who can give advice to my dilemma.How do i change my internet explorer link opening preferences?Nah, this isn't a dumb question. Just go up to Tools in the upper right corner, select Internet Options, and then Tabs, which is towards the bottom of the box that opens. From there you can select if you want it to open in a new window. Let me know if that works!
